This full-featured camera app has a killer new feature: it automatically levels photos in real time, while shooting. With gyroLens, you don’t need to worry about crooked aim or setting up and taking level shots – the app does it for you. gyroLens brings a true point-and-shoot capability to iOS devices, and makes photography easier and more fun. Shortly after release, the app was featured in iTunes "New and Noteworthy" in January 2011, "Whats Hot" in February 2011, and it has been part of iTunes "App Store Essentials".
gyroLens gets its name by using the gyro (iPhone 4 and iPod Touch 4th generation) and accelerometer (iPhone 3G and 3GS) to correctly and automatically frame a level shot from any scene. Choose from clip and mask modes that cut out the level frame, or fill mode which zooms the level frame back to full size. The app also includes a gyro-off mode for regular uncorrected image capture.
In addition to its unique gyro capabilities, gyroLens is also a full-featured camera app, offering the following:

gyroLens is great for action shots, macro shots, self portraits, scene compositions, and situations where its hard to line up a level image due to complicated terrain, bad position, poor aim, or lack of time to aim. gyroLens frames a level 4:3 sub-image from the scene, with perfect alignment every time.

This is a great use of the Gyroscope sensor present in the iPhone 4. Taking pictures is also fast, no delays after pressing the shutter and pictures go straight to the camera roll.
A great concept for an even better app! The user interface, although, could use some improvements.
This app has a great concept, and its useful as-is. A couple of UI improvements would really help. The most useful change would be to let the photographer see the photograph immediately after taking it, either by holding the image for a couple of seconds, or by having a direct link to the camera roll -- or both options.
Before I bought this, because of the apps name, I expected it to reduce motion blur and steady pictures. That is what a gyro cam traditionally does.
This app does not.
What it does do, and does well, is make sure that your still pictures are aligned *straight*. Not tilted.
With the recent updates, theyve been adding more and more of the "stock" camera apps features, which is good (e.g. gps info).
What they still need to add is:
HDR support,
Immediate viewing of the picture just taken,
Movie mode (whether gyro aligned or not).
Only then will it become a permanent replacement for Apples built-in Camera app.
That should be their goal.
Wonderfull app and it goes better. I did prefer the way the picture was displayed smaller on screen when it is reduce because the view was not levelled. It was reflecting more the reality.

Great concept and works as advertised. It does need one more option to allow easy access to view the last photo taken. Looking forward to future updates.
Some bad moments
Doesnt give any better image stability for moving images than the regular phone. Save your money.
This is just what I needed. Having two dogs and two cats and trying to get that special moment on camera can be hard. This app lets me take the pic any way I can and I know it will come our looking good. Now I dont have to get up and have the pets move when I do, I can snap and pic and capture the moment... So Sweet!! Things come out level and lined up straight.
This APP is incredible, I was running down my stairs, took a shot and it came out perfect. I dont know how you did it but this technology is unbelievable. No more blurry shots, no more missed shots. This is the only camera APP for me. Im so excited !!!
I put it to the test and tried to take a crooked picture, cant do it! The photos come out straight every time. We are in the future! Thanks

Very cool and useful app. Well worth your dollar. The autofocus could use some work.
